The latest project masterminded by Blumhouse sees bratty sorority girl Tree (Rothe) wake up in an unfamiliar boy’s dorm room on her birthday. Unsure how she got there or what happened the night before, she quickly makes an exit and walks across the campus, going about her usual day. That is, until someone in a baby faced mask attacks and stabs her to death in her own room.
In true Groundhog Day fashion, Tree is forced to relive the same day again and again, until she can figure out who is trying to kill her and why. If she can’t, she will be stuck in an insane loop, reliving a ghoulish nightmare that has become her death day.
A gleefully fun slasher movie with a strong lead performance from Rothe, this is one for horror fans and cult collectors as Blumhouse pays homage to 90s horror films in Happy Death Day, available on Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital from January 17, 2018.
