Steve Zahn, known for everything from “Reality Bites” to “Joyride” and recently, “War For The Planet of the Apes”, will star in a film from veteran second unit director E.J Roerster (“Godzilla”, “Tropic Thunder”). Details below!
Los Angeles, CA (July 1, 2019) – Steve Zahn has signed on to lead the cast of the comedy/drama GRINGA, which will be directed by E.J. Foerster. The film is being produced by E.J. Foerster, Marny Eng, Jeff G Waxman, Eric Heyadt and Clear Horizon’s David Brown and was written by Patrick Hasburgh. Shooting will commence this fall, with Michelle Lewitt casting, and Clear Horizon repping worldwide sales.
The exact plot is being kept under wraps but GRINGA is a father/daughter coming-of-age dramedy.
Zahn was most recently seen in WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES, and “Valley of the Boom.” He is also known for his roles in RESCUE DAWN, CAPTAIN FANTASTIC and DALLAS BUYERS CLUB.
Foerster is best known for his work as a second unit director on films such as THE GREATEST SHOWMAN, GODZILLA, THE TWILIGHT SAGA and TROPIC THUNDER.
This deal further cements Clear Horizon’s expansion as a new finance, sales and production entity. Company head Brown has been active in the indie film scene recently, with credits that include executive producing the Sundance hit AFTER THE WEDDING starring Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams and Billy Crudup, as well as FINDING STEVE MCQUEEN directed by Mark Steven Johnson and starring Travis Fimmel, Rachael Taylor and Forest Whitaker.
