“12 Years A Slave” and “The Newsroom” actor Chris Chalk will play DC Batman character Lucius Fox in Fox’s upcoming drama series “Gotham”.
Following in Morgan Freeman’s footsteps (Freeman played Lucius Fox in the “Dark Knight” trilogy), Chalk plays the character who becomes one of Bruce Wayne’s most important confidants. Fox is Wayne Enterprises’ resident tech genius and emerges as a moral beacon for a young Wayne.
In the comics, Fox becomes Wayne Enterprises President/CEO when Wayne becomes Batman.
Chalk will appear in the penultimate episode 21 of “Gotham’s” first season with a possibility of a season two return.
In other “Gotham” news, star Jada Pinkett-Smith has told ABC’s “Live With Kelly & Michael” that she will likely not return for the show’s second season.
“I signed for a year, and the year is up,” said the actress who plays Fish Mooney on the show.
So does this mean Mooney will be gone for good?
“She could show up anywhere, you never know,” said Pinkett-Smith.
In response, the producers of the show released a statement, however it really doesn’t address the issue at all: “Fish Mooney’s storyline takes a lot of interesting twists and turns into the finale of season one of Gotham.”
