Ethan Hawke will play the main villain in Disney+’s “Moon Knight”.
The “Before Sunset” and “Training Day’ actor plays the title character, a Marvel cult fave, in the series which is aiming for a production kick-off in Budapest.
As The Hollywood Reporter, who has the scoop on Hawke’s casting, states, “it is unclear who Hawke would play, but Moon Knight’s archnemesis is a villain named Bushman, a fellow mercenary who turned on the hero when Egyptian gold came into the picture.”
Mohamed Diab, the Egyptian helmer behind Middle Eastern drama ”Clash”, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, the indie filmmaking team behind sci-fi horror movies “The Endless” and “Synchronic”, are directing the show.
Hawke recently shot Roberts Eggers’ “The Northman” opposite Anya Taylor-Joy.
