HBO Max Batman spin-off will fix on Gotham Police Force

HBO Max has greenlit a new small-screen series based on the Gotham City Police department from Matt Reeves’ upcoming “The Batman”.

Reeves, Terence Winter, Dylan Clark and Warner Bros Television are hatching the series which “will build upon the film’s examination of the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City, launching a new Batman universe across multiple platforms. The series will extend the world established in the movie and further explore the myriad complex characters of Gotham”, says Deadline.

“This is an amazing opportunity, not only to expand the vision of the world I am creating in the film, but to explore it in the kind of depth and detail that only a longform format can afford — and getting to work with the incredibly talented Terence Winter, who has written so insightfully and powerfully about worlds of crime and corruption, is an absolute dream,” Reeves said.

No word yet on whether Batman will make an appearance or if Jeffrey Wright, who plays Commissioner Jim Gordon in “The Batman” will reprise his role for the small screen.

Another film delayed to 2021; say bye to Monster Hunter!
