Update! : Both David F.Sandberg, director of the film, and Variety are debunking reports that Henry Cavill has been cast in the upcoming “Shazam!” sequel.
Sandberg says on Twitter: “Not going to comment on casting rumors for several reasons. One being you can’t be sure about anything until it’s happened. Halfway through shooting Shazam the plan was still for Cavill to be in it. Scoopers could have scooped that and been right at the time but wrong in the end.”

Things have been dicey between DC and Henry Cavill for a couple of years – after making him look like an extra from “The Frighteners” in “Justice League”, thanks to the mustache-edits, I’d be pissed too – but seems the bulky Brit has decided to stay on as the Man of Steel.
That Hashtag Show says Cavill is onboard the new “Shazam” sequel, reprising the Boy Scout he played in “Man of Steel”, “Batman vs. Superman”, “Justice League” and my girlfriend’s dreams. They tried to get Cavill for a cameo as Superman in the original film (remember at the end? when you see only the bottom part of Supes?), but apparently this time he’s a lock. Maybe he’ll even do more than just cameo? could be cool to see him bouncing with Zachary Levi’s goofy superhero.
“Shazam : Fury of the Gods”, directed by returning helmer David F.Sandberg, will again star Levi, Adam Brody, Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer.
