Lionsgate has closed a deal for Anjelica Huston to reprise her role as the Director

Ballerina

Lionsgate has closed a deal for Anjelica Huston to reprise her role as the Director, the head of the Ruska Roma, as she stars opposite Ana de Armas in Ballerina, the new film set in the John Wick universe.

The film’s production is now underway with Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) directing from a Shay Hatten script. Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski produce.

Wick producer Erica Lee said: “The idea of Ballerina was formed around the scenes with Anjelica in John Wick 3. Anjelica Huston is an icon and is nothing less than Hollywood royalty. The world of Wick is always made richer by her commanding screen presence.”

The Fall Guy

Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) has joined the cast of The Fall Guy, Uni’s big screen adaptation of the classic TV show starring Lee Majors. Ryan Gosling plays the Majors role in the film, currently shooting in Sydney.

“I’ve only shot one day so far and I pop in and out over the next few months”, the Australian actress tells Marie Claire. “It’s epic, it’s action, David Leitch is the director and he did Bullet Train so it’s very much in the vein of that heightened action.”

“It’s been funny, lots of improv and keeping me on my toes,” Palmer said, of her onset experience.

The Pocketwatch

Today, Disney+ announced that talented multi-hyphenate performers Brandy and Rita Ora will journey to the fantastical kingdom of Auradon in “The Pocketwatch” (working title), the latest installment in the music-driven megahit “Descendants” franchise from Disney Branded Television. Brandy will return to the role of Cinderella, which she first played in Walt Disney Television’s iconic 1997 version of “Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.” Ora, who starred in “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight” series and was most recently cast alongside Jamie Foxx and Robert De Niro in the upcoming “Tin Soldier,” will portray the villainous Queen of Hearts of “Alice in Wonderland” fame.

Ora and Brandy join previously announced cast members China Anne McClain (Disney’s “Descendants 2” and “Descendants 3”), Kylie Cantrall (Disney’s “Gabby Duran and the Unsittables”) and Dara Reneé (Disney’s “High School Musical: The Musical: the Series”).

Also being added to the talented cast are Malia Baker (“The Babysitter’s Club”), Ruby Rose Turner (Disney’s “Coop and Cami Ask the World”), Morgan Dudley (“Jagged Little Pill” on Broadway) and Joshua Colley (“Senior Year”). In addition, fan favorite Melanie Paxson (“Dealbreakers”) will reprise her role as Fairy Godmother from the previous “Descendants” movies.
