Idris Elba (“The Beasts of No Nation”) will star in a romantic drama, “The Mountain Between Us”.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, this is the long-gestating adaptation of the Charles Martin best-selling novel that once had “Pacific Rim” alum Charlie Hunnam and Rosamund Pike attached.
The Fox 2000 drama tells of a pair who fall in love while stranded in the wilderness after a plane crash.
A female lead is now being sought to star alongside Elba in the Hany Abu-Assad (”Paradise Now”) directed pic. Chris Weitz is doing a rewrite on the film.
“Mountain Between Us” is due to get off the ground in the summer.
