Indiana Jones 5 kicks off next week in the UK

A look at one of the sets being used for the film

The fifth “Indiana Jones” film will commence production in the UK next week, Lucasfilm has confirmed.

Harrison Ford has arrived in the country ahead of production, with such locations as Bamburgh Castle on the Northumberland said to be utilized for the shoot.

(Interestingly enough, Steven Spielberg had a haunted castle prologue in mind for “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”, initially – – might the writers have restored the previously abandoned sequence for this film?)

Directed by “Logan” alum James Mangold, the new film is rumoured to be set around the race to space with Mads Mikkelsen playing a Nazi scientist. In addition to Ford and Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thomas Kretschmann (below), Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson will co-star in the 2022 release.
