Production on the fifth “Indiana Jones” film has been put on pause for at least three months (!) while star Harrison Ford recovers from a serious injury.
Ford, 78, still insists on doing his own stunts and is said to have badly hurt his shoulder during a rehearsal for a fight scene.
According to The Sun, it’ll be at least September before the production gets back underway.
Originally, Disney, director James Mangold and producers Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy thought they could work around Ford’s recovery, filming other parts of the film, but with Ford out-of-action for twelve weeks there’s only so much they can shoot in the meantime. As such, it’s decided to shut up shop and re-open later.
The new film, planned to release in 2022 (though watch the film get delayed, as a result of the production hiccup), is said to involve the race to space. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Toby Jones also star in the film.
