Boone remakes Interview with the Vampire!

A new film adaptation (you’ll recall Neil Jordan had a stab at one in the early ’90s) of Anne Rice’s “Interview with the Vampire” is inching forward.

One might recall that last year, shortly after news hit that Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment had acquired the rights to the series, that an announcement hit noting Josh Boone (“The Fault in the Stars”) was going to write and direct a film that would combine the second and third books – “The Vampire Lestat” and “The Queen of the Damned” – in the series.

Seems that’s not the case. Instead, Boone – co-writing a script with Jill Killington – is doing “Interview”.

The first film adaptation of “Interview with the Vampire” featured the controversial casting of Tom Cruise as Vampire Lestat alongside then-newcomer Brad Pitt as Louis. Too early to say who Boone will be chasing to play Lestat here – but way back when there were rumours of Robert Downey Jr playing the rocker bloodsucker.
