Is this confirmation that Ewan McGregor is back as Obi-Wan?!

News is circling that Ewan McGregor could return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a “Star Wars” series for Disney+. The series would focus on the Jedi master, but details are currently being kept under wraps.

We reported on this one 3 months ago, with news that the Kenobi spin-off had morphed from a feature film into a Disney+ series. Deadline have further commented on the potential today, with sources telling the site that Kenobi is in fact in official talks.

McGregor played the younger Obi-Wan in 3 “Star Wars” feature films: “The Phantom Menace” (1999), “Attack of the Clones” (2002) and “Revenge of the Sith (2005). He also had a voice-only cameo in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (2015).

The Disney-only expo D23 is happening in Anaheim later this month, where they will no doubt cement some of these plans and potentially announce McGregor in the role.

One of the other “Star Wars” series’ coming to Disney+ is “The Mandalorian” from Jon Favreau and starring Pedro Pascal. They’ve also got a “Star Wars” spinoff series starring Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk reprising their “Rogue One” characters Cassian Andor and K-2S0.
