Jake Gyllenhaal to star in Roadhouse remake for Bourne Identity director

The original ’80s film starred Patrick Swayze as the bouncer Dalton

Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in a remake of ’80s classic “Roadhouse” for MGM and director Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity”, “Go!”, “Everest”).

Patrick Swayze starred in the original Rowdy Herrington-directed actioner as a brawny bouncer guarding the staff and patrons of The Double Deuce. Kelly Lynch and Sam Elliott co-starred.

It remains unclear whether “Spider-Man : Far From Home” alum Gyllenhaal will play Swayze’s Dalton in the redo or a completely new character.

Jonathan Schaech starred in the direct-to-video release “Roadhouse 2 : Last Call” in .2006.
