James Wan is returning to the high seas for an “Aquaman” sequel.
With Warners celebrating a sumly $1.07 billion return on the DC Comics adaptation – it’s just behind the studio’s “Dark Knight Rises”, which it’s expected to surpass this weekend – no surprise to hear that the studio wants the Australian filmmaker back to captain a sequel.
At this stage, Wan has only agreed to oversee development of the film, which includes selecting a solid script for Arthur Curry’s next adventure. The “Saw” helmer will decide later whether or not he’ll also reprise his position as director.
Deadline first reported the news.
