Jeff Bridges will reunite with “Tron Legacy” director Joseph Kosinski on Black Label Media’s untitled firefighter film, says Variety.
Taylor Kitsch (“True Detective”) has also boarded the film, which will be distributed worldwide by Lionsgate.
Josh Brolin, Miles Teller and James Badge Dale were already onboard the picture, which follows the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of firefighters that faced one of the deadliest wildfires in history in order to save an Arizona town, resulting in the tragic death of 19 crew members.
Bridges, who reprised his Kevin Flynn role for Kosinski’s “Tron” sequel, and Kitsch play firefighters in the movie.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Erik Howsam, Conde Nast Entertainment’s Jeremy Steckler and Dawn Ostroff, Mike Menchel, Black Label Media’s Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill are producing the film.
Kosinski was prepping a third “Tron” movie – which Bridges likely would’ve been involved in – before Disney pulled the plug on it.
