Oft-reliable scoopsters The Illuminerdi are reporting that Brit Jeremy Irvine (“War Horse”, “Fallen”) is closing in on the role of Alan Scott in HBO Max’s “Green Lantern” series.

As opposed to the recently snapped-up Finn Wittrock, who will play Guy Gardner, the deal will likely only run one-year.

According to the site, expect to see Bree Jarta, Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz, and Sinestro in the small-screen superhero series too. Guy and Alan are the stars of the show though.

Here’s the breakdown for Alan from the site :

“White Male, 28 years old. From the outside, Alan is the model of early 1940’s. The image of a G-Man. Alan is handsome, clean-shaven and well dressed without a hair out of place,” reads the character description. “He has spent his young life trying to personify truth, justice, and the American Way.”

“He is already a household name in L.A. and is seen as hero thanks to positive press coverage. However, for all of Alan’s honesty, there is one huge lie that follows him. He is a gay man. A fact that, in his era, could cost him his job, or even his life.”

Warner Bros are already working on a feature film version of the DC comic classic too.
