Jessica Biel set for Montgomery-Gore true crime series

Elisabeth Moss was originally set to star in “Candy”

Jessica Biel has stepped in for departing Elisabeth Moss on Hulu’s “Candy”.

The true crime series tells of “Candy Montgomery, a Texas woman who in 1980 killed her friend Betty Gore with an ax. Biel takes over for Elisabeth Moss, who was originally attached to star but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts”, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Former “Seventh Heaven” actress Biel will also executive produce the series, the pilot of which will be helmed by “Mad Men” alum Michael Uppendahl.

A rival Montgomery-Gore film is also in the works, Elizabeth Olsen and Lily Rabe are set to play the two women in ”Love and Death” at HBO Max.
