Joe Manganiello reprising Deathstroke for HBO Max event series

Joe Manganiello will shoot new scenes as Deathstroke for Zack Snyder’s much-hyped “Justice League” event series at HBO Max.

Reshoots for “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” – an elongated cut of the 2017 film – will involve Ben Affleck (Batman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Amber Heard (Mera) and Jared Leto (The Joker) – reprising his role from “Suicide Squad”. Henry Cavill has said in recent times that he won’t be filming any new scenes as Superman.

Manganiello’s Deathstroke, aka Slade Wilson, appeared in the post-credits scene of “Justice League”.

Collider says the “True Blood” actor is a lock to film new scenes but a representative for HBO Max would not confirm Manganiello’s return. Earlier this week, the actor appeared on Twitch sporting “a short, white blonde haircut”, which fits with Deathstroke’s look, suggesting he’s currently – or about to – lens his scenes.

“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” will air 2021 on HBO Max.
