This week’s Arrowverse crossover seemed to confirm (kinda..) the unyielding belief that John Diggle is – or would be – the Green Lantern.
During the second hour of “Elseworlds”, Earth-90’s Barry Allen (John Wesley Shipp) turns to Diggle (David Ramsey) and expressed surprise when Oliver’s buddy wasn’t wearing “his ring”.
Of course, Diggle and friends had no idea what Allen was talking about.
What the little moment confirmed though is that on one Earth, likely Earth-90 where Shipp’s original Flash gets about, Diggle is indeed a Green Lantern.
So will we soon see Earth-1’s John Diggle getting about in green?
“To be continued.” Showrunner Beth Schwartz teased to reporters (including Comic Book Movie) during an “Elseworlds” press screening. “No, we were all really excited about that fun nod. But I’m not sure what’s to come of that, really.”
“It’s not been written yet,” “The Flash” showrunner Todd Helbing adds.
“Yeah, it’s not been written yet,” Schwartz echoed.
Fans – and Ramsay himself – have speculated for years now that Diggle himself is the emerald-suited hero but doesn’t sound like they’ll get their definitive proof anytime soon.
