Is “Die Hard” a Christmas movie?
There’s been a pissing war between fans over whether the 1988 action film should be a considered a bonafide Christmas movie… or just a damn good movie.
John McTiernan, director of the movie, says the Bruce Willis-starring machine-gun commercial is indeed somewhat Christmasy.
The “Predator” filmmaker tells the American Film Institute, over 12 minutes, that “We hadn’t intended it to be a Christmas movie. But the joy that came from it is what turned it into a Christmas movie”.
