Jonathan and Martha Kent reunite for kidnap-thriller

“Man of Steel” couple Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will reunite for a suspense thriller based on Larry Watson’s “Let Him Go”.

From writer-director Thomas Bezucha, who penned “The Family Stone” and “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society”, the Focus Features production tells of a couple forced to protect their grandson from a dangerous family (Ironically, Costner and Lane’s characters in the ‘Superman’ films had to protect offspring Clark).

The “Yellowstone” star plays retired sheriff George Blackledge and Lane is wife Margaret who, following the loss of their son, leave their Montana ranch to rescue their young grandson from the clutches of a dangerous family living off the grid in the Dakotas, headed by matriarch Blanche Weboy. When they discover the Weboys have no intention of letting the child go, George and Margaret are left with no choice but to fight for their family.

Paula Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan of the Mazur Kaplan Company will produce alongside Bezucha. Production kicks off in the Spring.
