Jude Law’s role in Captain Marvel revealed

For some reason, Disney has tried to keep the glad-wrap on who Jude Law is playing in next month’s “Captain Marvel”.

Is it because he’s the villain? is it because of the dog-tired “Fantastic Beasts” sequel that he so fleetingly featured in? Or maybe the house of mouse simply decided “let’s keep one frickin’ thing a surprise for the audience..”?

That would be something.

Whatever the case, the cat is out of the bag – per ComicBookMovie, and an official tie-in novel (that publisher is gonna be popular tomorrow…), Law will be playing Yon-Rogg.

Yep, that unfortunately-named chap.

Here’s how a Google search describes the miliary commander/Kree :

Yon-Rogg is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is an alien Kree, a military commander whose weakness is his jealousy of the accomplishments of others and his love for the medic Una. He is sent to supervise the troublesome planet Earth. He is primarily a foe of Captain Marvel, specifically the Carol Danvers version and was indirectly responsible for her transformation into Ms. Marvel.

And all along, I assumed Law was voicing the cat in the movie.

“Captain Marvel” is in theaters March 8.
