Justice League sequel plots revealed; Gunn offered Superman

Ever in-the-know, Kevin Smith has teased listeners of his Fatman Beyond podcast with details on what Zack Snyder was originally planning to do with the “Justice League” films.

Per Smith, Snyder’s “Justice League” would’ve been the first part of a trilogy that would’ve culminated with Darkseid on Earth, bringing Batman’s terrifying vision from “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” to life.

The second part sounds the most intriguing, with events taking a dark “Empire Strikes Back”-style turn as the heroes head to the home planet of Darkseid, Apokolips.

Smith believes we missed out on something pretty spesh.

In other ‘what could’ve been’ news, it’s been revealed that “Guardians of the Galaxy” and now “The Suicide Squad” director James Gunn was offered the chance to direct a new “Superman” movie last year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn didn’t need too long to consider bringing Superman back to the big screen – but he did briefly consider doing a flick on Supes’s dog, Krypto.

Considering what magic he worked on Rocket and Groot, you can almost envision what Gunn would’ve done with the super pooch.
