Kate McKinnon in negotiations to join Lily James in music-inspired comedy

“Ghostbusters” and “Rough Night” star Kate McKinnon is in talks to join “Baby Driver” star Lily James in a yet-untitled comedy from Universal and Working Title. The film will be directed by Danny Boyle, and has been written by Richard Curtis.

While the logline is being kept under wraps at this stage, it is known to be musically themed and set in the 1960s or ’70s. McKinnon will play a talent agent. James is playing a teacher (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Word is production is being eyed for the middle of the year, and Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce alongside Matt Wilkinson and Bernie Bellew. Curtis and Boyle will also produce.
