Kilmer joins Shane Black’s Nice Guys

Jack Kilmer (“Palo Alto”) has joined the cast of Shane Black’s “Nice Guys” starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.

The Hollywood Reporter reports :

The Shane Black-helmed movie is set in 1970s Los Angeles. It follows a private eye (Gosling) and a hired leg-breaker (Crowe) who must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. Matt Bomer, Kim Basinger and Beau Knapp also star.

Kilmer, who just signed with CAA, will play Chet, a young film projectionist who is a friend and confidante of Amelia (Margaret Qualley), the missing girl at the film’s center. He proves vital to Healy (Crowe) and March’s (Gosling) investigation. The film will be a reunion for Kilmer and Qualley, who both starred in Gia Coppola’s Palo Alto.

Kilmer is the son of actors Val Kilmer and Joanne Whalley.
