Knight Rider movie “will be announced soon”

Seems the long-gestating “Knight Rider” movie won’t be going the way of the “Baywatch” flick and demoting original lead David Hasselhoff to a glorified extra.

‘The Hoff’, as he’s affectionately called, has teased involvement in a new “Knight Rider” movie in a new interview with Digital Journal.

“Look for the Knight Rider movie, which will be announced soon,” he hinted.

It’s not the first time Hasselhoff has teased the project, last commenting on a possible “Knight Rider” movie in February.

“We talked about another series about eight to nine years ago,” Hasselhoff told The Mirror, referring to the version the Weinstein’s were looking to do. “But they wanted to do it without me.”

“I even said I didn’t have to be the lead,” Hasselhoff said. “I didn’t even need to be in it that much, I could cameo or something, but they didn’t listen. I wanted to tell them what the morals behind Knight Rider were, the morals behind Baywatch and why they worked!”

“I’m not supposed to say anything, but stay tuned. The Knight Rider will ride again!”

“Knight Rider”, which ran from 1982 to 1986 on NBC, told of a lone crimefighter, Michael Knight, who battles the forces of evil with the help of a virtually indestructible and artificially intelligent supercar.
