Law & Order: SVU Spinoff with Christopher Meloni set at NBC

Elliot Stabler is returning to TV, with Christopher Meloni bringing his “Law & Order: SVU” character to a spinoff! The series has received a 13-episode order at NBC. Dick Wolf, the mind behind “Law & Order” has created the show.

According to Deadline, the show will reportedly follow Stabler as he heads up the organized crime division of the NYPD.

Matt Olmstead is being eyed to write the series and serve as showrunner. Wolf will executive produce along with Arthur W. Forney and Peter Jankowski.

Meloni’s character of Elliot Stabler left “SVU” in 2011, and was written out as having retired from the Police Force.
