Len Wiseman has been appointed by Lionsgate to direct “Ballerina”, an action spinoff of the popular franchise “John Wick”. Per Deadline, “Ballerina” focuses on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family.
Shay Hatten penned the script, who also scripted “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum”. Producers for “Ballerina” include Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski, with “John Wick” star Keanu Reeves an executive producer with Kaley Smalley.
The female character referred to was seen in “Parabellum”, with Unity Phelan credited as playing her. However, no word on who will take on the role in the upcoming film. It remains to be seen if Reeves will be in the film or cameo in any way.
“John Wick 4” is still full-steam-ahead at Lionsgate.
