Let’s talk about that Mandalorian season finale…

It goes without saying, but if you haven’t seen the season finale for Series 2 of “The Mandalorian”, then please don’t keep reading – spoilers are afoot!

Mando (Pedro Pascal), with the help of Boba Fett, Bo-Katan, Koska Reeves, Cara Dune, and Fennec Shand, made their way to confront Moff Gideon for a variety of reasons – to rescue Grogu aka The Child, and Bo-Katan after the Darksaber. The biggest nail-biting moment came with an unknown ship coming aboard Gideon’s, and a green lightsaber taking out the Dark Troopers as it made its way to the bridge, where the group remain trapped.

Grogu feels the Jedi’s presence, and in walks in Luke Skywalker (a CGI’d Mark Hamill). Grogu reluctantly leaves with Skywalker and R2-D2 after Mando gives his blessing, removing his helmet with a tear in his eye. Skywalker says The Child “is strong with the force but talent without training is nothing. I will give my life to protect the child, but he will not be safe until he masters his abilities”.

This incredible ending left us all wondering what will be the next chapter of “The Mandalorian” – with Gideon still alive, the Darksaber in Mando’s possession and thus King of Mandalore, but without his little BFF by his side, it’s going to be a wild ride. I’m in!

If you sat through the credits, then you would’ve been treated to the post-credit scene, which announced the next spin-off series to come from “The Mandalorian”. Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) return to Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tatooine where he and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) get revenge on Bib Fortuna, Jabba’s old right-hand man. Then come the words “The Book of Boba Fett. Coming December 2021”.

“The Mandalorian” season 3 is set to hit screens next Christmas, as is “The Book of Boba Fett” – we can’t wait!
