Locke and Key adaptation casts Conjuring actress

“Locke and Key”, the upcoming TV adaptation of the comic books has cast its lead with Frances O’Connor (“The Conjuring 2”) scoring the role.

The show will premiere on streaming service Hulu, and is based on the comic book series by Joe Hill.

Per THR: “Locke and Key” is a horror/fantasy series that revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.

O’Connor will play title character Nina Locke, a role previously played by Miranda Otto in another adaptation in 2011 that was not picked up past pilot stage. Nina moves her family of 3 children to Maine following the death of her husband.

“IT” director Andy Muschietti is on board to direct and also exec-produce the series alongside Lindsay Springer and comic creator Hill.
