Those who’ve seen M.Night Shyamalan’s twisty-new thriller will know that “Split” takes place in the same universe as the former’s earlier hit “Unbreakable”. Without saying how it’s connected, or what that end sequence is, let’s just say he gives us enough intel to substantiate the claim.
Also seems the once movie-jailed director of cinematic poop isn’t just c*ck teasing fans either, there’s a reason he’s bringing us back to the world of “Unbreakable”.
“I do intend on making a final Unbreakable movie and I’m intending on doing it next,” the director tells Uproxx.
And it sounds like both Bruce Willis and Samuel L.Jackson will be appearing alongside “Split” co-star James MvAvoy.
“I’m still close to Bruce and everybody,” the “Sixth Sense” helmer said. “And obviously I’m still close to James and still in touch with Sam and all that stuff. So, hopefully that becomes a reality very soon.”
‘Night’ has long wanted to do a sequel to “Unbreakable”, at times even declaring it ‘his next film’, so while the above news is great… don’t start queuing for tickets just yet.
