Lost… Again!? ABC considering reboot!

ABC has had moderate to mega success with their reboots thus far – in particular, the controversial but high-hitting “Roseanne” (now “The Connors”) – so no surprise that they’re tinkering with bringing back some of their other legendary brands.

In addition to “Designing Women” and “New York Undercover” reboots, the alphabet net is considering going back to the island. Yep, that island – the one with the numbers, the polar bears and ‘freckles’.

No need to send a pair of clippers to Terry O’Quinn’s house just yet though, if a “Lost” reboot happens it won’t be for quite a while.

At the TCAs, ABC Prez Karey Burke confirmed interest in resurrecting the one-time ratings juggernaut.

“It is literally at this point just what I dream about when I go to bed at night,” Burke said. “I have not spoken to Carlton [Cuse] or J.J. [Abrams] or ABC Studios about it.”

Showrunners Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have [sensibly] opted not to get involved in any “Lost” reboot, and they likely won’t want anywhere near a new version, but the duo are open to others giving a reboot a stab.

Burke said she’s not working on anything yet but her comments suggest she sure hopes to be in the future.

“I do often get the question what show would I reboot and often my answer is Lost, sometimes Alias,” Burke said. “Nothing to report yet, maybe ever but it would be a fun thing to have a conversation about.”

Let’s also make sure the new showrunners have a clearer idea of where they’d like the show to go – so they don’t splice in a cop-out ending into their series finale. Sorry.
