Marvel man in talks for Star Wars movie

With Disney housing both the Marvel and Star Wars brands, no surprise that they’d try super-glue the two respective franchises – in some way – at a certain point.

While Spider-Man and Obi-Wan Kenobi aren’t meeting on screen (just yet), Disney has asked MCU chief Kevin Feige to develop a new “Star Wars” movie for the studio.

Apparently Feige is a big-time fan of ‘The Wars’ so didn’t need too much thinking time when Lucasfilm prez Kathleen Kennedy approached him with an offer to make a movie with Jedis, instead of Avengers, in the near future.

Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy “is pursuing a new era in ‘Star Wars’ storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a ‘Star Wars’ film together,” Walt Disney Studios co-chairman Alan Horn tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Feige met with Kennedy and studio co-chairmen Alan Horn and Alan Bergman late summer to discuss a potential “Star Wars” movie he’d like to make. The Marvel mogul even has a “major actor” in mind for a “specific role” in the film, should he make the flick.

Still, even if Feige’s movie doesn’t come together, there’s a horde of “Star Wars” projects still on the way – Skywalker-less projects from “Last Jedi” director Rian Johnson and “Game of Thrones” showrunners D.B Weiss and David Benioff, as well as a number of small-screen ventures – including “The Mandalorian”, a “Rogue One” prequel series, and an Obi-Wan Kenobi series – for Disney+.
