Marvel’s Blade taps Demange, Starburry

Film is back on track to shoot in Atlanta in 2023

Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios’ Blade is back and running – or will be, come 2023 when it resumes shooting in Atlanta under the direction of newly-hired helmer Yann Demange (’71).

Demanage, who directed the pilot for “Lovecraft Country”, replaces Bassam Tariq who departed the pic back in September.

Mahershala Ali attached to star in the latest film adaptation of the Marvel comic, described as “dark and gritty in tone, falling on the edgier side of Marvel fare” akin to the original Wesley Snipes movies.

Michael Starrbury has been hired to pen a brand new script for the feature.
