Matrix 4 updates : Neil Patrick Harris joins cast; Jada Pinkett Smith in negotiations

Big news for “The Matrix 4” is that “How I Met Your Mother” favourite Neil Patrick Harris has been confirmed to star in the upcoming flick, alongside Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss.

Don’t be fooled by his comic facade, with Harris also quite competent of a serious character, including his role in “Gone Girl”. Having said that, he might indeed be the comic relief for the flick, we’ll just have to wait and see! No confirmation has been made for his role, and specific plot details for the film haven’t been confirmed as yet. Per Variety.

Also in talks to join the fourth instalment in the “Matrix” franchise is Jada Pinkett Smith, who appeared as Niobe in parts 2 and 3, “The Matrix Reloaded” and “Matrix Revolutions”.

Per the Deadline exclusive, Niobe is from Zion, and the captain of the Logos hovercraft. She’s also one of the rebels in the war against the Machines and the Matrix. In the virtual world of the Matrix, Niobe is a gifted martial artist.

Lana Wachowski on board to write and direct the fourth instalment in the franchise. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is also starring in “The Matrix 4”, and is rumored to play a young Morpheus, but again – nothing has been confirmed!
