Matthew McConaughey’s latest axed just six weeks before production start

“Dallas Sting” would’ve told the true story of a coach

A TIME TO KILL, Matthew McConaughey, 1996

Skydance and Matthew McConaughey have cancelled plans to shoot a film based on the coach of a Dallas high school girls who headed to China in 1984 and beat some of the best women’s teams from China, Australia and Italy, just six weeks out from the beginning of production.

According to Deadline, the “Rocky”-esque pic “was scrapped over an impropriety that Skydance and the producers were made aware of. After they investigated, the allegations were serious enough to get them to pull out of the movie.”

Kaitlyn Dever was attached to play one of the girls in “Dallas Sting”.

Kari Skogland was set to direct the film, which was to shoot in New Orleans in October, developed by Skydance and Berlanti Schechter Productions.
