Meet your new Batman!

All previous rumors have now been proven fruitless (though Bosslogic was on the money)…  … Robert Pattinson is the new Batman.

Yep, a new and unexpected face will be behind the cowl for Matt Reeves’ long-gestating ‘Batman’ film, due in theaters June 25, 2021 – and he’ll likely look a mix of Edward Cullen, Cedric Diggory and Ephraim Winslow.

And before you go petitioning to have it stopped, I urge you to check out Pattinson in “Good Time”, “Remember Me”, “The Rover”, “Cosmopolis”, “High Life” and “The Lost City of Z” before you declare him unfit for a spot in the Justice League.

Per Variety, who had the scoop on Pattinson’s anointment to Wayne manor, negotiations are still being finalised between the WB and the “Twilight” alum, but it is expected the deal will close shortly.

“War for the Planet of the Apes” director Reeves has been on board to direct the film since January last year, following Ben Affleck’s exit as both the director and…Batman himself. The script is still being finalized for the new take, but it’s said to be the first in a trilogy fixing on Batman the ‘detective’ as opposed to Batman ‘the guy with the gadgets’.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves mentioned that the film will likely pit Bats against a few famous villains.

“You can’t have Batman without a villain,” he said. “There will be a rogues gallery.”

A great number of others were said to be in the mix to don the codpiece for the stand-alone superhero jaunt, including Armie Hammer and Richard Madden, but it came down to 33-year-old Pattinson and “X-Men” alum Nicholas Hoult, according to new reports.

The part reunites Pattinson, who will be in Christopher Nolan’s next and stars in the forthcoming Robert Eggers-directed “The Lighthouse”, with the studio he got his start with on the “Harry Potter” franchise.

No start date has yet been set for filming, but word is it could be toward the end of 2019 or beginning of 2020.
