Gil Kenan (“Monster House”, “Poltergeist”) has begun filming “A Boy Called Christmas”, based on the bestselling book by Matt Haig, with an all-star cast including Jim Broadbent, Toby Jones, Sally Hawkins and Kristen Wiig.
ANAL, Netflix and Blueprint Pictures are producing the feature, which will shoot on location in Lapland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and London.
Zoe Colletti, Michiel Huisman, Henry Lawfull, Maggie Smith, Rune Temte, and Indica Watson are also onboard the film.
Ol Parker (”Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”, ”The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”) and Kenan adapted the screenplay.
STUDIOCANAL will release the film theatrically in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France and China, and Netflix will release the film in the rest of the world. STUDIOCANAL will produce with Graham Broadbent and Pete Czernin of BAFTA and Academy Award winning Blueprint Pictures.
