According to Coming Soon, Julianne Moore is heading into sci-fi terrain with a role in "The Children of Men", starring opposite widely-rumoured 007 contender Clive Owen.
Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, the film is set in the near-future where mankind has lost the ability to procreate. The world is rocked by the news that the youngest person on earth — who is 18 years old — has died. As chaos erupts, a former radical (Owen) is engaged to be the protector of the most sought after person on the planet — the last remaining pregnant female.
The site says a September 2006 release date is being mooted for the film.
