More from Blomkamp’s Alien sequel

A couple of days ago Neill Blomkamp (“Elysium”) revealed, via a series of great concept sketches on his Twitter account, that he was developing an “Alien” sequel – albeit one unsanctioned by Fox. His film, had the project have gotten to the starting line, would’ve reunited “Aliens” duo Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn) – last believed to be alien-chow at the beginning of the ill-fated “Alien 3”. The internet has been a flurry of excitement since Blomkamp’s post, offering up an unyieldingly positive response to the filmmaker’s sequel proposal (even actor Michael Biehn is all for it, asking his fans to support the idea; head over to Facebook to like the idea), and a plethora of ‘please Fox! let Blomkamp make this movie!’ style posts across message boards, forums, and social accounts. Blomkamp reiterated on Twitter that Fox had no idea he was even writing/developing a sequel to their “Alien” franchise but the fact that he’s unleashed the pics onto the world wide wobbly suggest he’s not only dead keen to do it but plans to leverage all of the support to get Fox to OK the film. Let’s admit it, who really wants “Prometheus 2”!? I think we’d all much rather see Ellen Ripley again, no!?

Here’s a couple more sketches Blomkamp has released :
