MPAA gives Hellboy R rating

The MPAA has awarded Neil Marshall’s “Hellboy” reboot an R-rating.

The film, starring David Harbour in the role originated on the red screen by Ron Perlman, encompasses “strong bloody violence and gore throughout, and language” according to the ratings board.

Considering what we’ve heard about the film – and that it’s all spades of gory and violent – no surprise that the latest incarnation of “Hellboy” has a harder rating than Guillermo Del Toro’s films.

“Hellboy” releases April 12.
