Natalie Portman wants in on Garland’s Annihilation

Alex Garland (“Ex Machina”) has lined up his next directing gig and Natalie Portman may headline the sci-fier.

According to Variety, Portman is in early talks to join “Annihilation”, an adaptation of Jeff VanderMeer’s book about  a biologist who signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition where the laws of nature don’t apply.

Garland will write and direct the film. Scott Rudin will produce.
