NBC resurrects Bewitched

A reboot of “Bewitched”, fixing on Samantha’s granddaughter, has been given the greenlight at NBC.

According to EW, the network has given a pilot commitment to the followup, penned by ”The Vow” writers Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein. The new “Bewitched” will fix on Daphne, Samantha’s granddaughter and Tabitha’s daughter, while she attempts to juggle her powers and love life.

The series is being produced by Sony TV and Lucy Fisher and Douglas Wick’s Red Wagon Entertainment, who were also behind the “Bewitched” film starring Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman.

“Bewitched” ran from 1964 to 1972; a spin-off, “Tabitha”, aired for a season in 1977-1978.
