Netflix really aren’t prepared to lose- not even a teeny bit.

With slightly deteriorating ratings on more and more mixed reviews, they recently gave the axe to superhero series “Iron Fist”. Now, it seems, fellow Marvel offering “Luke Cage” has suffered the same fate for the same reasons.

According to Deadline, the axing came as a surprise to cast and crew who had already been working on storylines for the upcoming third season.

“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season,” Marvel and the streaming service said on Friday. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

Another reason for the cancellation, reportedly, are the production costs involved in putting together the shows.

There have been some whispers that “Iron Fist” may find a new home of Disney’s streaming service, so it could be that “Luke Cage” might also find his way back onto the channel.
