Ahead of the national release in cinemas on August 8, 2019, Transmission Films has released the trailer for true-tale action film “Danger Close : The Battle of Long Tan”.

“Vikings” star Travis Fimmel headlines the cast, with Luke Bracey, Daniel Webber, Nicholas Hamilton, Stephen Peacocke, and Richard Roxburgh helping make up the roster. Kriv Stenders (“Red Dog”) directs from a Stuart Beattie (“Collateral”) script.

One late afternoon in 1966, in the pouring rain, amid the mud and shattered trees of a Vietnamese rubber plantation called Long Tan, Major Harry Smith and his dispersed company of 108 young and mostly inexperienced Australian and New Zealand soldiers are fighting for their lives. They’re holding off an overwhelming enemy force of 2,500 battle-hardened Viet Cong and North Vietnamese soldiers. This is their untold story.

“The Battle of Long Tan is an incredible and inspiring ANZAC story. To see the battle portrayed on screen for the first time is a heart pounding and emotional experience for audiences. The passion and expertise of the filmmaking team has made this movie an instant Australian classic,” said Transmission Films Joint Managing Directors Andrew Mackie and Richard Payten.

“Making this film has been the greatest filmmaking challenge of my career so far and I am so proud and thrilled with the extraordinary work of my dedicated team both behind and in front of the cameras. It is truly an epic movie, made with the kind of ambition, scale and scope that is rarely possible in this country. I am honoured to have had the opportunity to tell this significant and remarkable Australian story and to be finally sharing it with audiences,” said Director Kriv Stenders.

“Making Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan was truly a once in lifetime experience. Every single person involved brought their absolute best work in service of this incredible story. From the heads of departments, actors to the background performers, there was a sense of purpose and satisfaction of knowing we were telling an Australian story that will be around for many years to come,” said Deeper Water Films Producers Michael Schwarz and John Schwarz.

“Danger Close : The Battle of Long Tan” is releasing in Australian cinemas on August.

Will Smith is, er, two-faced in the trailer for Paramount’s “Gemini Man”.

Ang Lee (“Hulk”) directs the high-concept sci-fi thriller, which sees Smith’s Henry Brogen attempt to evade death by his younger clone.

Utilizing technology used [brilliantly] by Marvel in the last few movies they’ve done, Smith plays both roles – de-aging VFX assisting in the department of the younger incarnation.

In addition to the nifty vfx, Lee is again  – he tried it on “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk”- shooting in 3D at 120 frames per second and 4k resolution. Hopefully it looks better than it did first time around.

Clive Owen, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Benedict Wong, and Linda Emond star in the flick, which opens October 11.

A frickin’ colossal new trailer for Warner Bros’ “Godzilla : King of the Monsters” dropped today.

Like the previous trailer, it doesn’t hint to the plot (which Millie Bobby Brown somehow factors into) but it does showcase some amazing kaiju fun and a boat-load of triumphant effects work (expect the end credits on this one to run longer than twenty minutes).

“Godzilla : King of the Monsters” hits theaters – and no doubt, popcorn cups – May 31.

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
