New Texas Chainsaw Massacre film headed to Netflix

Streaming giant Netflix has picked up the rights to the new “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” from Legendary Films, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie was filmed last year with David Blue Garcia at the helm, and script penned by Chris Thomas Devlin.

The new “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” takes place years after the shocking events of the original (1974’s “Chainsaw”, directed by Tobe Hooper), in a setting where Leatherface hasn’t been seen or heard from since. The film seeks to pick up where the Hooper and Kim Henkel film initially left off, bringing the most notorious horror franchise back to life in the same bold and provocative manner that it was first introduced to the world.

The cast of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” includes Elsie Fisher, Sarah Yarkin, Jacob Latimore and Moe Dunford.
