The third in Gerard Butler’s “… has Fallen” series has been scheduled for release next August.
“Angel has Fallen”, the third in a series of movies in which the grizzled action star plays Secret Service agent Mike Banning, will open Aug. 23, 2019, Lionsgate announced today.
At this stage, the only competition the film faces is “Overcomer”, an inspirational drama about a high school coach who takes on a cross-country runner.
Ric Roman Waugh’s “Angel has Fallen” sees Banning framed for the assassination of the president. Morgan Freeman, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lance Reddick, Nick Nolte, Danny Huston, Piper Perabo and Tim Blake Nelson co-star in the film, which follows 2013’s “Olympus Has Fallen” and 2016’s “London Has Fallen”.
