Niles’ son cast in Frasier sequel

His onscreen parents unlikely to appear

NBC

Paramount+s “Frasier” sequel series added Anders Keith (“Y : The Last Man”) as David, the son of Niles (David Hyde-Pierce) and Daphne (Jane Leeves). The latter won’t make an appearance in the sequel, which sees Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Frasier Crane moving to “a different city with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge, and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.”

The character of David appeared as a baby in the original two-part series finale of “Frasier”.

Per Variety, David is described as “an awkward college freshman with a penchant for off-kilter observations. Frasier’s nephew David has Niles’ intelligence, Daphne’s smile, and neither of their polish. David’s unearned confidence may confuse some, but Frasier has a fondness for his nephew’s earnest enthusiasm.”

Jess Salgueiro has also boarded the series, which also stars Nicholas Lyndhurst and Jack Cutmore-Scott, playing the latter’s room-mate.
