Gina Gershon is set to star as the role of ‘Eve’ in Martin Guigui’s upcoming drama Nine Eleven, alongside Charlie Sheen, Luis Guzman, Wood Harris, Olga Fonda and Whoopi Goldberg.
Produced by Warren Ostergard, Dahlia Waingort and Martin Sprock, with Mark Burg, Ryan R. Johnson and Rodric David executive producing, Nine Eleven tells the story of five individuals – a billionaire businessman, his estranged wife (Gershon), a bike messenger, a young executive and a building maintenance worker – who find themselves trapped in an elevator in the North Tower of the World Trade Center on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
Gershon will portray the soon-to-be-ex-wife of high-powered Wall Street executive Jeffrey Cage, played by Sheen. Eve and Jeffrey are at the towers to finalize their divorce papers when they find themselves trapped in a North Tower elevator. After an unknown event jolts their elevator car to a stop, the story unfolds as the group slowly learns what is happening in the outside world and that they must rely on each other and a lone elevator systems operator, played by Whoopi Goldberg, to find a way to safety.
Production for Nine Eleven has already begun. International sales are being handled by Good Universe with P&A finances being provided by Thunder Studios Capital Management, LLC.
Gershon most recently wrapped the independent film, Permission, starring opposite Rebecca Hall and Dan Stevens. She is represented by Abrams Artists Agency, Untitled Entertainment and Weintraub Tobin.
