Norman Osborn, the big bad of Marvel’s Phase 4!?

Earlier, we put post to page on some of Marvel’s phase 4 plans – in particular the ‘Nova’ movie (yep, Richard Rider to finally get his due!) that will be slotted in amongst the umpteen sequels Kevin Feige has on the shingle’s dance card.

One bit worth penciling on its own post-it, Peter Parker foe Norman Osborn will become somewhat of a carry-over villain in at least six of the Earth-set films in Marvel’s Phase 4 slate.

While Osborn is better known as The Green Goblin – and we’ve seen that incarnation of the smarmy suit in several “Spider-Man” movies – word is we’ll initially only get a real-world, Tony Stark-dark version of Harry’s pop. Yep, the rogue will do his evilish dealings without his suit and emerald duds.

Rumor is Osborn makes his debut in this summer’s “Spider-Man : Far From Home” and the film sets up his arc going forward as the big bad that the Avengers will face going forward. In other words, while the character will pop up in “Spider-Man” films, he could also pop up in various other Phase 4 films including “Ant-Man 3”, “Black Panther 2” and “Young Avengers”.

One long-standing rumor has Matthew McConaughey the favorite to play Osborne –   guess we’ll find out soon whether Marvel got him.

It’s likely some of this stuff  – if not all – will be revealed at San Diego Comic Con in July.

All of the Phase 4 plans hail from oft-reliable insider Roger Wardell, who previously posted “Avengers : Endgame” spoilers months ahead of the film’s theatrical debut that turned out to be accurate.
